Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains how The Human Intelligence Trust handles personal data collected through this website. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible and to use it only for the purposes described below.
1. Who is responsible
The person responsible for this website within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Jonathan WardLinke Wienzeile 100 / 15
1060 Wien, Austria
Email: jon@humanintelligencetrust.org
2. What we collect
Contact form. When you use the contact form, we collect the information you provide (such as your name, email address, and message, plus any interest areas you tick). We use this only to reply to you and to keep a record of our correspondence.
Server logs. Our hosting provider may automatically record basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and time of request) for security and reliability purposes. These logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to build profiles of visitors.
Cookies. This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Any cookies used are strictly necessary for the site to function.
3. Legal basis and purpose
We process data on the following bases under the GDPR:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — when you voluntarily submit the contact form or subscribe to updates.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to operate and secure the website and respond to enquiries.
4. Sharing and processors
We do not sell your personal data. Data may be processed on our behalf by service providers such as our hosting and email providers, who are contractually bound to protect it and use it only for the purposes we specify.
5. How long we keep data
We keep contact-form messages only for as long as is reasonably needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up correspondence, and then delete them. Server logs are retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email jon@humanintelligencetrust.org.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde, www.dsb.gv.at).
7. External links
This site links to third-party resources (for example academic papers). Once you leave this site, this policy no longer applies; please review the privacy notices of the sites you visit.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one posted on this page.
